Takeshi Friedmann
フリードマンたけし

«Takeshi Friedmann is a special case. We really like his work, yet we still  do not really know what he (or she or them?) is made out of. Anonymity is quite an achievement in this digital world, though it fits well with Gen Z and A tendencies of going offline, going analog, going human.
We do know that he is human, his work predates AI generated content, and is pretty consistent over the years. His first public photo is from 2006?
So anonymity is quite an achievement in this digital world and we have to congratulate him (her?, them?) for that. But there is no doubt, his talent for photography equally deserves acclaim.
Takeshi Friedmann is actually a full-time diplomat (we have NOT found this out ourselves, he revealed it himself, so lets us believe it or not). He was also once a full-time published fashion photographer. He even appeared as a judge and guest photographer in an episode of the Next Top Model franchise in a country of the world (there are many with the franchise, and there are many guest photographers, so good luck guessing!).
We know this from his website:
"Takeshi Friedmann is certainly an alias to keep his identity masked. He will never show his face or show up in his exhibitions. Takeshi is a Japanese first name, he might be Japanese, or half Japanese, he might not. Friedmann is perhaps the name of one of his favorite photographers to express his respect.
Takeshi Friedmann is the secret identity of a once full-time published fashion photographer, TV reality show judge, now turned diplomat."»
